You might have heard of StarKid through this cute guy, Darren Criss, who is best known for playing a gay character, Blaine Anderson, in the popular comedy-drama series Glee.
Or you might have discovered it because of one of its awesome shows. So, what is StarKid?
StarKid is a group of young writers, directors, actors and designers graduating from University of Michigan dedicated themselves to creating musical theater productions. They are best knows for its first musical A Very Potter Musical, a parody of the Harry Potter series. The video soon became all the rage after released on YouTube, obtaining millions of views ,and was named one of "The 10 Best Viral Videos of 2009" by Entertainment Weekly.
StarKid is famous for its trait of easygoingness, such as adding some popular culture references and inside jokes to their shows. The friendly style click on the crowd successfully and allow the audience to have empathy with the performances. To date, StarKid has garnered countless of worldwide audience and inspired innumerable people.
